Top 5 ways to remove your Tanning

Hey guys! I hope you all are doing well. So, in this post we shall be discussing about tanning and my personal favourite methods to deal with it. Tanned skin is not Healthy skin and we need to keep our skin safe.

Living in Delhi where sun hits us directly for around 10 months in a year is a big deal. We have to work hard on our skin. Protection from sun is very important and we always find ways that are effective and ofcourse pocket-friendly.

One thing that I have learnt is that no matter whatever you do, protecting yourself 100% from getting tanned is impossible. So, instead I looked for ways to control and infact remove my tanning from time to time.

My top 5 ways to remove Tanning are:

  1.  Lemons

    Yes, when life gives you lemons, squeeze it on your skin and remove your tan! Lemon juice contains citric acid that helps to dissolve your tan and also helps in skin whitening. Take a slice of lemon and rub it directly on your skin (basically your tanned skin or dark elbows or knees ). Rub it for atleast 5 minutes and then let it dry for around 15-20 minutes. Wash it with water and Voila..! You are good to go.

  2. Scrub

    Scrubbing is nothing but exfoliating your skin that helps you remove ingrained dirt and dead skin. You scrub off the top most layer of your skin which reveals a more soft, smooth and healthy skin. This is my personal favourite method to remove my tan. You should scrub your whole body not just your face and that too twice a week. Some of my favourite face and body scrubs for tan removal are: Biotique’s Bio Walnut Purifying & Polishing Scrub, Lotus Herbals Phyto-Rx Skin Brightening Exfoliator,  Avon Naturals Grape Seed Whitening 3 in 1 Cleanser Scrub Mask, etc.

  3. Amla juice

    Amla – Indian gooseberry

    Indian gooseberry commonly known as Amla is also a good source of citric acid. You just need to grind or grate the amla and then directly apply it on the effected areas. Leave it for 15 minutes and then wash it off with water.

  4. Yogurt and Tomato

    Combination of these two also helps in removing tan. Both the items are easily available. They are natural yet effective. Mix tomato juice and yogurt in equal proportion and apply it on tanned skin.  Let it dry for 30 minutes and then wash it off.

  5. Gramflour and Milk

    Gramflour or commonly known as besan when mixed with milk and applied on skin helps you to get rid of your tan and makes your skin look fair.

So these are the few tried and tested methods that I have been practicing from past so many years . They personally work very well on me and are my favourites.
